Welcome to Japan’s Hiroshi Doi Sensei Lineage and Gendai Reiki Ho
The four levels of Gendai Reiki are taught by Shihans Nancy Haney Duke and Nancy Livingston and are scheduled several times throughout the year. Individual Gendai Reiki training is also available for private groups or on an individual basis if you are unable to attend a weekend training.
Level 1 — Shoden (Reiki I)
Mikao Usui’s intention in his creation of the Usui Reiki System was to leave a spiritual path towards Anshin Ritsumei, towards the state of satori, what we in the west call enlightenment. That is the search for a state of calmness and perfect harmony, regardless of what happens around us. This is also the purpose in opening the energy channel in Level 1. In this Level you will learn to unconditionally embrace your Reiki channel. You will have the energy path open to improve your channeling condition via attunements and the practices of breath, awareness, meditation and visualization, self-purification and self-empowerment techniques. You will also receive the healing techniques created by Usui Sensei, which go beyond hand positions. These techniques are applicable in self-treatment and treatments of others, and they are applied to attain equilibrium in the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels.

Level 2 — Okuden (Reiki II)
In the second level of Gendai Reiki you will work in depth with self-healing/purification and the healing of others. You will learn a series of techniques created by Mikao Usui in order to accelerate the healing processes. You will also receive the first three symbols that Mikao Usui transmitted to his students. The second level constitutes an important step in the deepening of the contact with Reiki energy accelerating us toward the path of Anshin Ritsumei, spiritual fulfillment.
Level 3 — Shinpiden (Reiki Master)
The third level transmits an empowering transcendence in the process of self-relization. The practitioner deepens his/her connection with his/her spiritual self through Reiki embellished meditations, visualizations and breathing techniques. You receive the fourth and last symbol.
Level 4 — Gokuikaiden (Master'sTeacher Certification)
In the fourth and last level all Usui’s teachings are completed. You learn to transmit all the levels of Usui Reiki Ryoho maintaining impeccable ethics, and staying far away from dogmatism. Through learning attuning techniques and experiencing Reiju, you will be empowered with a deeper connection and resonance with Reiki’s energy, connecting yourself with Reiki’s essence and wisdom. Once the course is finished you will receive a certificate with the title of Shihan (teacher) in gendai Reiki, that has international recognition. You will be the bearer of a very potent Reiki Lineage, occupying the sixth place after Mikao Usui in the gendai Reiki Association in Japan, to make sure the transmission of the sacred teachings is pure and reliable. Lineage’s detail: Lineage: the energetic transmission from Teacher to teacher. Mikao Usui: Creator of the Reiki system in Japan and First President of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai (Reiki Japanese Association founded in 1922). Taketomi: Third President of the Gakkai, initiated by Usui. Koyama: Sixth President of the Gakkai, initiated by Taketomi. Hiroshi Doi: President of the Gendai Reiki Healing Association, member of Usui’s Gakkai, initiated by Kimiko Koyama. Audrey & James Pearson initiated by Doi Sensi (Gendai Reiki America).
